Frequently Asked Questions
Silver is the new gold.
Welcome to DRK Jewels. Below are answers to the questions we hear most often. If you don't find what you're looking for, please reach out at drkjewels@gmail.com.
About Our Jewellery
Q1. What is your jewellery made of?
Our jewellery is crafted in 925 sterling silver and finished with a layer of gold plating (where applicable). We use semi-precious stones, moissanite, polki, American diamonds, pearls, and quartz to create pieces that look as luxurious as gold — at a fraction of the cost.
Q2. What does “925 sterling silver” mean?
It means the metal is 92.5% pure silver, mixed with 7.5% alloy to give it strength and durability. This is the international standard for fine silver jewellery.
Q3. Is the gold plating real gold?
Yes. Our gold-plated pieces are coated with a layer of real gold over 925 sterling silver, giving you the look and feel of gold jewellery at a much more accessible price.
Q4. Will the gold plating fade over time?
With regular wear, gold plating may gradually wear off over time — this is natural for all plated jewellery. Following our care guidelines (Q14) will significantly extend the life of the plating. Re-plating services are available on request.
Q5. Are the stones real?
We use a mix of natural and lab-grown stones depending on the piece — including moissanite, polki, American diamonds, pearls, and semi-precious stones. The stones used are clearly mentioned in each product description.
Q6. Will silver jewellery turn my skin black or cause allergies?
925 sterling silver is hypoallergenic and safe for most skin types. Mild tarnishing of the metal can happen over time due to humidity and exposure to chemicals — this is normal and can be cleaned. It does not stain the skin permanently.
Customized Orders
Q7. Do you take customized orders?
Yes, we do. If you have a design in mind, we'd love to bring it to life. Please email us at drkjewels@gmail.com with your reference images, requirements, and budget — our team will get back to you with feasibility, timeline, and pricing.
Q8. How long does a customized order take?
Custom pieces typically take 3 to 5 weeks depending on design complexity and stone availability. We'll share a clear timeline before confirming your order.
Q9. Are customized orders returnable?
No. Since custom pieces are made exclusively for you, they are not eligible for return or exchange. We share design previews and confirmations before production begins to ensure you're fully satisfied with the design.
Orders & Payment
Q10. What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, UPI, net banking, and wallet payments through our secure Shopify checkout.
Q11. Is my payment secure?
Yes. All transactions are processed through Shopify's PCI-DSS compliant secure payment gateway. We do not store your card details.
Shipping & Delivery
Q12. Do you ship across India?
Yes. We ship pan-India through trusted, insured courier partners.
Q13. How long will my order take to arrive?
Ready-to-ship pieces are dispatched within 2–3 business days and typically delivered within 5–7 business days across India. Custom pieces take 3–5 weeks.
Q14. How do I track my order?
Once your order is dispatched, you'll receive a tracking link via email and SMS. You can also reach out to us anytime for an update.
Returns & Exchange
Q15. What is your return policy?
We offer a 15-day return window on ready-to-ship pieces from the date of delivery, provided the item is unworn, unaltered, and returned with its original packaging and invoice. Return shipping is free — we arrange a reverse pickup. Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 10 business days of inspection. Customized pieces, earrings (for hygiene reasons), and sale items are not eligible for return. For full details, please read our Return & Exchange Policy.
Q16. Do you offer exchange?
Yes. Ready-to-ship pieces can be exchanged within 15 days of delivery for another piece of equal or higher value, subject to inspection.
Care & Maintenance
Q17. How should I care for my silver jewellery?
A few simple habits go a long way:
• Store each piece separately in its original pouch or box to avoid scratches.
• Keep jewellery away from perfumes, deodorants, lotions, and harsh chemicals.
• Avoid wearing it while swimming, exercising, sleeping, or bathing.
• Wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth after wear.
• Make jewellery the last thing you put on, and the first thing you take off.
Q18. My silver has tarnished — what should I do?
Light tarnish is normal and can be wiped off with a soft cloth. For gold-plated pieces, avoid harsh polishing as it can wear down the plating. Please reach out to us if you'd like cleaning or re-plating support.
